Ethiopia Agaro Dera
Sometimes Ethiopian coffees are black tea and jasmine, and sometimes they have a more rustic tropical vibe, like this: the Agaro Dera. Sourced by Red Fox Coffee Merchants, we were introduced to this lot during this summer's latest arrivals. It's distinction on the cupping table made it a must have. Gore Dako is a newly formed coop, picking from the forest in the southern end of Agaro Derailleur. It's neighbors to Biftu Gudina and close to Duromina and Hunda Oli (all of which seasoned customers might recall from our lineup in years past).
This has been a mixed year for Ethiopian coffee arrivals, we've done the work of sorting through dozens of coffees to find the rare diamond in the rough. This coffee shows sugary tropical notes of cantaloupe, mango, hibiscus florals, all bound together with a honeycomb sweetness. Please enjoy this fine offering from our team!
