Colombia Maria Elsi
I met Maria Elsi on my first trip to Colombia. She is the youngest of 3 coffee growing siblings, and her crop is one of the highest scoring Colombian coffees we purchased this season.
She and her siblings all grow coffee high on the mountain above Buesaco. They each grow their own lots and use a shared mill to process and dry. Her coffee was traditionally fermented 14hrs, washed and dried on raised covered beds for 8 days. We couldn't be more thrilled to have gotten ahold of this coffee, it is our 2nd year purchasing from Maria Elsi, thanks to the work of our sourcing partners Azahar and Bend Coffee.
In the cup we taste sparkling acidity of pomegranate, structured and silky bodied notes of coconut cream, and throughout the sweet vibrancy of passionfruit nectar. Coffees like this are why we get up in the morning, we hope you love it too!
